Silence Is Golden: Watch the Trailer for 'The Artist'

Here's a film that's getting a gigantic buzz from film buffs: 'The Artist,' a gorgeous-looking black and white silent film. Yes, you read that right. The French film, directed by Michel Hazanavicius, who masterminded the comic 'OSS 117' films, is a loving tribute and homage to the 1920s golden age of silent cinema when actors and actresses emoted with nary a soundman in sight, and beautiful tales of action, adventure and romance could be told with facial expressions and a few title cards. 'The Artist', which stars Jean Dujardin, Berenice Bejo, John Goodman, James Cromwell, Penelope Ann Miller and Missi Pyle, revolves around George Valentin (Dujardin), a silent film star whose career is fading with the rise of the talkies while an actress he mentored, Peppy Miller (Bejo), begins her rise to stardom a la 'A Star Is Born.' 'The Artist' screened at Cannes and won a best actor nod for Dujardin.
