NBCs Prime Suspect Will get Order For Six More Scripts
NBC is strengthening its support for well-received but battling new drama Prime Suspect having a six-script order. The result is similar script pickup for sophomore dramedy Harry’s Law yesterday. Prime Suspect is NBC’s only new fall scripted series whose fate is not determined. The network lately gave comedies Up Through The Night and Whitney full-season orders and canceled drama The Playboy Club and comedy Free Agents. This type of script order enables producers to help keep a set in continuous production when the network provides it with an episodic back order. Following a slow start, Prime Suspect held steady last Thursday (1.5/4), when almost all other shows were lower. The cop drama starring Maria Bello gets additional sampling on Monday where its repeats changed Playboy now.
