Hal Sadoff to exit ICM
Hal Sadoff, longtime head of international and indie film at ICM, is ankling after months of exit negotiations -- the beginning of an expected flurry of staff comings and goings as the percentary shifts into a partner-owned agency. ICM on Monday also promoted eight coordinators to agent status across multiple departments. But there was much chatter in the industry about the prospect of agent departures in the coming weeks. The shuffle comes as ICM undergoes a transfer of ownership to its core partner agents, six years after a majority stake in the agency was acquired by private equity shingle Rizvi Traverse Management. ICM toppers Chris Silbermann and Jeff Berg have been hammering out a restructuring deal since late last year. Sadoff had been eyeing an exit as internal instability widened and infighting between Silbermann and Berg worsened. Brought aboard by Berg more than seven years ago, Sadoff is expected to stay in his current role while the agency prepares to fill it internally. The eight coordinators promoted to agent Monday are Jeff Barry, Bryan Diperstein, Remington Franklin, Laura Haas, Andrew Kurland, Ann Murphy, Eric Skinner and Howie Tanenbaum.
