MTV Sets O Music Awards 2 for Oct. 31
Just six-months after their inaugural O Music Awards, MTV Music Group is back for more. The organization announced on Tuesday, Sept. 27 that they have set a second OMA celebration for Oct. 31, 2011.our editor recommendsMTV VMAs: Foo Fighters Follow Up 'Best Rock Video' Win With Raunchiest Clip Yet (NSFW Video) MTV VMAs: Lady Gaga's Performance: Twitter ReactionsMTV Video Music Awards: 10 Things Seen and Heard PHOTOS: MTV VMAs: Best and Worst Moments The digital awards show honors artists, innovators and fans of digital music culture in categories which include, Fan Army FTW, Best Fan Cover, Best Web Born Artist, Most Outrageous Tweet and Too Much Ass for TV -- for which the Foo Fighters' racy "Hot Buns" video is nominated. "The idea for this show really came out of this incredible moment that we were seeing in the convergence of music and technology, and kind of super fandom," MTV Music Group's vp of digital music strategy, Shannon Connolly, told The Hollywood Reporter. "The way that people were sharing and conversing and experiencing music on new platforms, [we] felt like it was a great time to spotlight some of the awesome things happening -- and to also challenge ourselves to kind of reinvent the award show model." While the first show lived on the web only (it was the group's second-largest live stream audience ever, behind the 2009 VMAs), they have opted to incorporate television airtime this time around, though no official details regarding the design have been confirmed. PHOTOS: MTV VMAs 2011: Red Carpet Arrivals "This is an award show for music fans. We wanted the fans to play a bigger role in the creative of the show," Connolly said. "We have five fan submitted categories that will be open for voting, as well as a nominee write in. What was really exciting from a production standpoint, was bringing the fans into the creative of the show. How we're gonna do that, I can't tell you exactly yet. But, physically bringing them into the show -- measuring who the biggest super fan of the OMAs is and giving them their own award -- we're not just doing lip service to 'by the fans and for the fans,' but actually letting them control the reigns and drive this creatively. That's the group we're honoring." Sponsors for the digital show include Dove, Trojan and L'Oreal, all of which will be integrated into the live experience of the show. Each company will also sponsor at least one of the categories. Voting begins Tuesday, Sept. 27 on the O Music Awards site. Each category includes pre-selected nominees, as well as a write in option. On Thursday Oct. 6, MTV will announce selected nominees who will be added to each category. Fans can also get involved on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr. VIDEOS: MTV VMAs 2011: Red Carpet Interviews Contrary to budget busting awards shows like the Grammys or MTV's own Video Music Awards, the OMAs are a cost effective, profitable and a relatively quick event to plan. As a vehicle for digital music culture, the show also offers an opportunity to promote college radio. April's show -- without an on-air component -- resulted in high viewership of the live stream, 3 million votes and multiple trending topics on Twitter. A time for the event has yet to be revealed, though MTV still has several announcements up its sleeve. Connolly told THR that there are a handful of artists already signed on to perform in both live and pre-taped segments, and that their names will be announced as the event draws closer. Among the nominee leaders are Tyler the Creator, Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber and even Sinead O'Connor (Oops! I Did It Online and Best Vintage Viral Video). Cher, Nirvana, Lil Wayne, Iron Maiden, Dolly Parton, Bjork, Wayne Coyne, Scissor Sisters, Best Coast and Big Freedia are also up for awards. Today in Huh? Barry Levinson and Sheryl Crow Team Up for 'Diner' Musical
Because the first thing that comes to mind when you think about Barry Levinson's coming-of-age period piece 'Diner' is Sheryl Crow, the director and singer are coming together to turn the 1982 film into a musical. Per Variety, the production is aiming for a 2012 launch on Broadway, with Levinson handling script duties and Crow writing the songs. Kathleen Marshall (the stage revival of 'Anything Goes') will direct. Set in 1959, the original film was about a group of twentysomething friends who reunite in Baltimore for a wedding. 'Diner' helped launch the careers of Mickey Rourke, Kevin Bacon, Steve Guttenberg, Daniel Stern, Tim Daly and Ellen Barkin. To refresh your memory, watch a clip below -- but try to imagine it with a Sheryl Crow song playing in the background. Or something. [via Variety] Watch Online Transformers 3 Dark Of The Moon

Director Eduardo Sanchez talks Blair Witch 3
Eduardo Sanchez, who co-directed the first The Blair Witch Project with Daniel Myrick, has talked about the potential for returning getting another film inside the series. In the speak with Bloody Disgusting, Sanchez gave an update concerning the status of Blair Witch 3, saying, "It's completely around Lionsgate."Serta which i you will need to take action. We've been toying around getting a follow-up proven fact that we really like. It's only dependent on getting our agendas in line and becoming Lionsgate sign off concerning the idea. We've been prepared to carry out a Blair Witch movie for just about any very very long time. We're as close to we now have are you currently that causes it to be happen but it's still not just a guaranteed factor."More youthful crowd handled to obtain apparent the 3rd instalment would without any reason overlook the risible follow-up, telling BD, "I truly loved the follow-up but concurrently it's available in the world outdoors in the movie. So to carry out a follow-up to Blair Witch Project, we should remain for the reason that world, which Book Of Shadows didn't remain for the reason that world."Book Of Shadows created another world. It's like once the follow-up to Jaws started with shots of people arranged to find out Jaws inside the cinema. For Book Of Shadows it labored in the certain way but in my opinion my finest gripe with Artisan was you shouldn't have referred to as it Blair Witch 2."It could have been fine to think of it as Blair Witch Tales. It was not a genuine follow-up towards the movie. So [Part 3] is a direct follow-up towards the film living because mythology of Burkittsville, being possessed, haunted by something."He added a couple of more interesting nuggets of intrigue, proclaiming, "At this time around, the idea does not have first some of it whatsoever, but we'll see... More often than not there's room for completely new tips to can be found in.InchSanchez also added the 3 primary stars/figures are needed to return, stating, "This program is always to request these phones [back]... They are likely not necessarily the main figures but they're certainly figures inside the follow-up."It's still tough to create a truly decent Blair Witch follow-up. Not only because Book Of Shadows am dire, but because of the very fact any extension in the story risks destroying the authentic chills and mystery in the original.Sánchez has directed numerous films in the last few years, although none have observed the impact of Blair Witch. His latest horror, Lovely Molly, just opened up in the usa.

Frederick Gordon-Levitt's 'Premium Rush' Trailer Ditches The Brakes
by John Phares Fixed gear, no brakes. Thats how Frederick Gordon-Levitt comes in the new messenger-bike-catch-me-if-you-can thrill ride, Premium Hurry. A minimum of hes wise enough to put on head gear. And it is a positive thing too, if my count is correct, Gordon-Levitt will get hit in what seems to become not just one, not two, but three different automobiles within the trailer, which appear to become near fatal accidents. Not just that, but he's sporting some seriously fancy bike moves. This is really far from his previous work, certainly. "Premium Hurry" has got the future "Dark Dark night Increases" star pitted facing the one and only soon-to-be General Zod, Michael Shannon, inside a classic situation from the wrong guy, in the wrong time. Its an account as old as wine to be certain, but Premium Hurry appears to become placing a new spin on things by tossing some bicycles in to the mix. Step aside cars, your time and effort has ended were goin eco-friendly and it will be glorious. The film concentrates on a mysterious envelope, which consists of, from things i can glean, a sticker. But it's a sticker very important. Especially to crooked cop, Michael Shannon, who'll visit absolutely nothing to intercept the envelope before it reaches its intended recipient. Things appears to become accumulated to some bike messenger meets cop meets unknown party (Im prepared to wager criminal syndicate of some kind) beat lower of epic proportions. Knowing incidentally actress Dania Ramirez wields that chain, my cash is about the motorcyclists. Premium Hurry is slated for any The month of january 2012 release, and appears to become one hell of the ride. Inform us what you believe within the comments section as well as on Twitter!

Meet The Secret Circle's Secret Coven of Witches
The Secret Circle Move over vampires: It's time for witches to shine. Thursday marks the premiere of The Secret Circle, a fish-out-of-water tale about an orphaned girl who discovers she's part of a secret coven of young witches who are coming into their own and discovering their powers. For those who haven't read the L.J. Smith novels the series is based on - and even if you have, the Kevin Williamson and Andrew Miller-produced CW show will be quite different - we asked the actors portraying the six witches of the coven about what's brewing with their characters. Let's meet the witches: Fall TV: Get the lowdown on this season's must-see new shows Cassie Blake (Britt Robertson) The new girl in Chance Harbor, Cassie was forced to return to her family's hometown after her mother was mysteriously murdered in a fire. Thrust into the world of magic, Cassie also will be faced with a more puzzling challenge: Her future is "written in the stars" with fellow witch Adam. Whatever that means. Good or evil: "A little bit of both," Robertson says. Power's a-blazin': "She likes to play with fire." Power Robertson would like in real life: "The power of flight." Struggles Cassie will face: "Initially the struggle is deciding to embrace the witchcraft or run from them like her mom did. Going further, you'll find that her dad and her past have a more evil side. Cassie is taking on the role of Faye [see below] a little bit and starting to rub the sticks together and create a little turmoil with the circle. She's trying to dive a little deeper in the magic world, a little too deep." Why viewers should like Cassie: "Because she's pretty [Laughs]. Just kidding. Because she's a superhero. The great thing about being supernatural is that they can literally do anything at anytime." Adam Conant (Thomas Dekker) Eternally conflicted hunk Adam finds himself in the throes of a love triangle. Though he loves his childhood sweetheart, Diana, he feels himself being pulled in Cassie's direction. Unlike most of the other coven members, Adam is just naturally good, brave and steadfast in his ways. Good or evil: "Good, for now," Dekker says with a grin. Power of love: "Controlling the elements, harnessing himself and others with nature and trying to control the out-of-control magic that occurs when he and Cassie are together now." Power Dekker would like in real life: "To be able to teleport myself to wherever I wanted at any given time because I'm sick of airplanes." Struggles Adam will face: "He's obviously dealing with the champagne problem of a love triangle with two really beautiful women. He's struggling to keep order in himself and the circle. As much as he likes to think he's in control, he's just as much of a mess as everybody else." Why viewers will like Adam: "At the root of his heart, he's a good person and probably one of the best in the show. He doesn't have an agenda and he doesn't want to hurt anybody, yet he seems to keep doing it over and over again." [Laughs] Diana Meade (Shelley Hennig) The epitome of good, Diana is the leader of the coven who welcomes Cassie with open arms, though the sparking flame between her boyfriend and the new girl occurs unbeknownst to her. Also, just because she's good, doesn't mean her father (Gale Harold) is. Good or evil: "She's a good witch, but you never know what's going to happen," Hennig says. Undiscovered powers: "As of now, we do crazy magic as a group and we're on the verge of finding out what each of us can do." Power Hennig would like in real life: "There's so many things I'd want. I think I'd get greedy. I'd like to fly on a broom instead of sitting in traffic for an hour." Struggles Diana will face: "There's going to be a triangle between Adam, Cassie and Diana. There's the relationship with Diana's dad, you may find out more about that. And keeping the group together. She's the leader of the circle and that's a lot of responsibility, especially when you're dealing with people who want to use magic for evil." Why viewers will like Diana: "She's sexy, she's smart and she's what most girls are aspiring to be," Dekker offers. "And she does well in school," Hennig adds. Secret Circle's Phoebe Tonkin is one of TVGuide.com's stars to watch this year Faye Chamberlain (Phoebe Tonkin) Resident bad girl Faye takes pleasure is other's discomfort, especially Cassie's when it comes to all things magic. Her devilish ways are only matched by her mother (Natasha Henstridge), the high school principal who keeps a close eye on the coven. Good or evil: "I think she doesn't know yet," Tonkin says honestly. "She starts out as a bad witch, but she starts to see that she's got some serious power now and that means some serious consequences. I think that's when Faye starts realizing her actions may end up hurting someone." Elemental power: "All the elements are a big part of the show - fire, wind, water, earth - it's all those nature elements." Power Tonkin would like in real life: "To fly because I hate getting on planes." Struggles Faye will face: "We're going to revisit some ex-boyfriends of Faye's. She's had some bad ex-boyfriends that have broken her heart. Her mom is obviously not a great influence and we're going to explore that. It's going to be nice to see exactly where Faye comes from." Why viewers should like Faye: "Ultimately she's not trying to hurt anyone. She's just trying to have fun. I think everyone can relate to just trying to have fun and not realizing that their actions have consequences. When she starts to realize what she's doing is quite bad, she really does feel bad about it." Melissa Glaser (Jessica Parker Kennedy) Faye's insecure sidekick, Melissa, tries to find herself in the growing coven. Good or evil: "She doesn't know," Kennedy explains. "She struggles with it every day. Faye is her best friend and she genuinely loves her, but Faye is kind of a naughty girl." Coven power: "When we come together our powers are really strong, as opposed to when we're apart." Power Kennedy would like in real life: "This is so boring, but I would really want to fly." Struggles Melissa will face: "That moral dilemma between good versus evil. She goes through a pretty crazy transformation a couple episodes down the road. She's also dealing with romance in her life." Why viewers should like Melissa: "She's one of the most earthy characters on this show. She really is passionate, speaks from her gut. There's a groundedness to her where all the other characters are figuring out what they want and what's going on. Even though she's having that moral dilemma, she's happy to speak about it. She's also got cool fashion sense." Check out all the familiar faces returning to TV this year Nick Armstrong (Louis Hunter) Neighbor to new girl Cassie, Nick is the quiet and mysterious bad boy who uses his good looks to his advantage. Good or evil: "I think he's good at heart," Hunter says. "All the core cast is good at heart, but things get in the way of that: Egos, vanity, greed and lust. He means well. He finds it hard to express it, especially through words. A couple of episodes in, you'll start to see who he is underneath the skin, underneath the brooding Edward Cullen face." Planting powers: "He has an especially good green thumb. He plants herbs, a special kind of herb that may be his own design that gets people happy." Power Hunter would like in real life: "To control time." Struggles Nick will face: "His parents died when he was about five years old and he's never recuperated from that. He's still dealing with issues of abandonment. In the next few episodes, he falls head over heels in love with someone who helps him get over the problems about connecting to another person, out of a lack of fearing of losing them again. He starts to become a man in his own right. That's his journey." Why viewers will like Nick: "The rest of the characters are going through a really traumatic time, hormonal changes as teenagers, but Nick is the most damaged, the most hurt, broken and estranged character out of all of them. It gives you something to sympathize with. At the same time, he's the bravest one in terms of running to the rescue of someone who's in need." Which witch sounds the most interesting so far? The Secret Circle premieres Thursday at 9/8c on The CW.The Hangover 2 Online Free

The Raid
An Alliance Films (in Canada) discharge of a PT Merantau Films/Abc Films/Celluloid Bad dreams presentation. (Worldwide sales: Celluloid Bad dreams, Paris/La.) Created by Ario Sagantoro. Executive producers, R. Maya Barack-Evans, Irwan D. Mussry, Nate Bolotin, Todd Brown. Directed, written, edited by Gareth Huw Evans. With: Iko Uwais, Joe Taslim. Doni Alamsyah, Yayan Ruhian, Pierre Gruno, Tegar Satrya, Ray Sahetapy. The ultimate credits roll, listing figures for example "Hole Drop Attacker" and "Machete Gang Member," only shows the amount of mayhem in Gareth Huw Evans' "The Raid." Indeed, moviegoers might want the projectionist could replay a few of the spectacular sequences within this incredible and extremely violent cop-versus.-gangster fight-athon, where a SWAT-like unit invades a 15-story building and needs to arrive at the top, floor by floor, to create lower the theif. Using the genre to some greater degree of intensity, the Welsh-born Evans continues what he began in the past Indonesia-set actioner "Merantau," but this pic will seal his cult status. As efficient since it's title signifies, "The Raid" provides a continuous sequence of action having a obvious and effective premise: If police can arrive at the top floor, there is a opportunity to bring lower major drug kingpin Tama (Ray Sahetapy). Further complicating matters is always that many cops within the unit are unskilled within the make of intense urban combat required here, which their corrupt boss, Lt. Wahyu (Pierre Gruno), may compromise the whole operation. That's about just as much plot because the movie can be involved with, or needs. Hard-ass cop Rama (Iko Uwais, "Merantau," inside a star-making role) is sparkling clean and tenacious like a bulldozer. In a few minutes of quietly penetrating the building's interior (the result strengthened by total silence on the soundtrack that otherwise provides huge punches of pure, sonic energy), Rama's males belong to assault by Tama's smartly placed models, including prepubescent spotters and endless supplies of dudes with heavy machine guns. Tama observes everything on the large bank of monitors in the control room, assisted by his callous henchmen Andi (Doni Alamsyah) and Mad Dog (Yayan Ruhian). Tama can also be in a position to deliver messages within the building's PA system, to ensure that everybody can hear his message, "We now have site visitors." It is the signal for those-out war. The ensuing 1 hour 30 minutes are largely a hands-to-hands, fist-to-face, feet-to-groin fight, having a couple of machetes and guns thrown in permanently measure. Pic handles to produce the feeling of the type of live-action ride, where Evans as conductor modulates the go up and down of action, and alternates pace and volume, with selected interludes of story to trap a person's breath. The result is exhilarating for audiences available to the sheer visceral sensation from the physical experience, no matter a person's predilection toward fight photos. Still, there's ample close-up, flesh-ripping violence to create even hardened audiences wince. The pic's combat style, silat, is definitely an Indonesian martial-arts form this is a more brawling type of fighting than more broadly known styles. Think about it as being the National football league overtaking kung fu, but a great deal nastier, using the action getting wilder the flooring -- and also the casualties in Rama's forces -- mount. It's not hard to your investment story altogether within the sheer hurry of Rama's fight up floor rather, audiences will question the way the amazing fight that simply ended may be capped. But it's, over and over. A five-minute fight that has flying, nipping areas of the body particularly shows the elegance within the fight choreography by Evans, Uwais and Ruhian. A lot more than most martial-arts photos, "The Raid" recalls the dwelling of the movie musical, where a simple story bridges the amounts and sequences. Ultimately, there's enough to among the pic's side tales (including siblings on opposite sides from the fight) that, drawn in tandem with righting the incorrect of political corruption, enables items to finish on the significantly satisfying note. Moti D. Setyanto's terrific production design represents the inside of the building like a perpetual maze, both up and down and flat. It isn't surprising the project required two lensers (Matt Flannery and Dimas Imam Subhono), because the camera frequently seems to ignore gravity inside a mission to obtain fresh angles about the fight. Technically, the pic's inside a league alone among Indonesian films. After this pic's first Toronto screening, producers introduced the soundtrack is going to be entirely modified by Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. Although it will add an industrial kick towards the film, it will appear curious considering the brilliant soundtrack displayed in the screening examined.Camera (color), Matt Flannery, Dimas Imam Subhono music, Fajar Yuskemal, Aria Prayogi production designer, Moti D. Ough Gervais To Reside In-Snark Golden Globes
Wow, this really is appointment listening. But many most likely it could happen only if he doesn’t host again. From Ough Gervais’ blog: What can you consider this? An energetic 3 hour podcast through the Golden Globes. Me together with a few chums (like Louis CK, Chris Rock, Karl Pilkington, John Stewart, Ray David popping inside and out) doing our personal alternative commentary. People in your house may have the telly track of the appear lower hearing us online say items that no broadcaster could accomplish. Nobody could execute a fucking factor. The finest live webcast ever? Who knows? Who cares? What’s fun might be the shit we might come forth with. Nothing. No sponsor. No guide lines. Fuck me I am in a position to’t wait. Maybe I’ll execute a non-broadcast practice while using Emmys to determine if it does. I’ll let you know. [After Which ...] Wow. I’ve opened up up a can of worms. Or Even The planet the planet pandora’s box. Or released the Kraken maybe? I’ve had an amazing a reaction to yesterday’s blog entry. Not only was the idea received well, but we’ve had offers of sponsorship, tech support and lots of comics up with this. I don’t want people to think that that is some type of anti-establishment stunt. It’s not. Any more than identifying to carry out a podcast in 2005 was. It’s about new horizons, technology and artistic freedom. Fun basically. Although, essentially really take action, it'll show people how tame my official hosting was a year ago. I still can’t quite understand how anybody would think I overstepped the aim, was cruel, or pressed any restrictions of taste and decency. It absolutely was a network friendly gentle ribbing of the marketplace. Anything. I didn’t even dress as Hitler ultimately. Anyway. I’m thinking about it. Might not happen. I wouldn't be accessible. Who knows, I'd attend The Golden Globes. (awkward silence.) The funny factor is, everyone who tunes in to the live webcast may also get being watching the specific show on NBC. I really could be helping their ratings. ' '. I hadn’t thought this through. Maybe they need to sponsor me? (awkward silence… a little more compared to final one… progressively fade to black.)

Winslet Owns Most Memorable Scene in 'Carnage'
VENICE, Italy (AP) The most memorable scene in Roman Polanski's new film "Carnage" belongs to Oscar-winner Kate Winslet.Just ask her kids. Winslet says they haven't forgotten about the day she had to projectile vomit on set."My kids came to work for the vomit day, and I am so thrilled that they were there because they literally have not stopped talking about it since. It was hysterical," Winslet told a news conference Thursday ahead of the world premiere of Polanski's latest film in competition at the Venice Film Festival.Based on the play by Yasmina Reza, "The God of Carnage," the film is a sort of "Lord of the Flies" for the adult set where civilized intentions go horribly awry as each character reveals their baser sides. The satire packed with comic moments stars Winslet and Christoph Waltz as husband and wife Nancy and Alan, appearing opposite Jodie Foster and John C. Reilly as Penelope and Michael two sets of parents who meet to sort out the details of a playground fight that left one of the boys with swollen lips and broken teeth. The parents manage to maintain the appearance decorum as they niggle over whether Nancy and Alan's son was armed with a stick, or just holding one. But rigid Penelope's assertion that the parents of the alleged bully lack interest in their son's behavior was more than Winslet's Nancy could stomach, literally.Fittingly, Nancy projectile vomits the cobbler they have been eating all over Penelope's cherished and rare art books.Though the stunt required Winslet to operate a complex apparatus, Reilly disputes that Winslet had the toughest job."While Kate was the one who threw up, Jody and I had to clean up the vomit, so we had the more disgusting involvement with the vomit," Reilly said. The all-star cast said they got on famously, and were united in praise of Polanski, who skipped the premiere."If Roman Polanski invites you to join in any project, you really don't say no," Winslet said. "I had seen the play in New York so I was already very much a fan on the piece. I just felt extremely fortunate to be included."Polanski's movements are restricted by an Interpol warrant in effect for 188 countries for extradition to the United States to face sentencing for having sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977. He moves freely between Switzerland, which refused to extradite him, and France, which has a blanket policy of not extraditing its citizens."Carnage" is set in Brooklyn, but shot on a soundstage near Paris over six weeks. Most of the action takes place inside an apartment, which was constructed to allow the actors to move seamlessly through the space. Brief exterior shots show the boys fighting at a riverside park and later give the film a bittersweet postscript."The use of space was actually a very precise and confined and minimal and detailed affair," Waltz said. "But that is exactly Roman's forte. The precision, the detail, the exactitude. The microscopic way of working."Polanski had the actors rehearse the script like a play, memorizing the entire screenplay and then doing run through after run through. While the screenplay was similar to the script, Winslet said the tone and rhythm were different creating a unique piece."The whole thing was actually shot in story order from start to finish, which I don't think any of us have ever experienced in film before," Winslet said.Copyright 2011 Associated Press.
